Chosen Issue: Water Pollution

Processing and Recording:
Write the information you find in the spaces - remember to write in your own words.

Key Question 1: What is the environmental/social sustainability issue?
Water Pollution is an issue that affects everyone.
Most of the sustainability issue is started because of water pollution.
Water pollution is when waste material or other chemicals
make the body of water become dangerous for aquatic life.

Key Question 2: What factors have caused this issue?
Such as dumping industrial material into the sea can cause the disappearance of marine life.
The water can be the reason for deforestation and cause to contaminate the groundwater.
All of this is the cause of people. Acid rain can also be the reason for water pollution.
Acid rain is when sulfur gets released into the atmosphere and reacts with water and other chemicals.
When the acidic rail falls into the sea or mixes with another body of water it can kill the aquatic.

Key Question 3: What will happen if this issue continues to degrade?

Many things can happen if this issue continues to degrade.
It can be dangerous to our health, environment and economy.
There’s a chance for humans and animals to be in danger if we take contaminated water,
we can even die if we take dirty water. People outside of Canada don’t have any
access to any clean water. Since water is one of our renewable resources
there’s a chance that these resources can be gone. What I mean by gone is there’s a possibility
that we can’t use it anymore as a resource.

Key Question 4: What are the possible solutions to this issue (either being currently done or could be done)?

Some people are taking action of water pollution in their country mostly
in the group from the Ministry of Environment, but there are also some companies that are
organising to clean the water like the GREENPEACE organisation.
Such as cleaning the sewage as sometimes all of the rubbish is stuck in there.
As you can see this past few years there is a lot of rubbish flying. So to solve this rubbish issue they’re also putting rubbish bin everywhere so the rubbish is not going to be near the lakes, river and sea. But we could also improve this solution by being more open to our surroundings, we should also be responsible for our dirty stuff, we should think beforehand. Keep oil, grease and fat from the sink.
Conclusions: Write conclusions summarising what you learned from your research. Include specific evidence from your research to support your findings.
Water Pollution is an issue that affects everyone. Because of water pollution, it can also affect other sustainable resources. Water Pollution can also be the reason why other environmental issues happen. People is one of the main reasons why water pollution started. Acid rain can also be the reason for water pollution. Acid rain is when sulfur get released into the atmosphere and react with water and other chemicals. When the acidic rain falls into the sea or mixes with another body of water it can kill the aquatic. Dumping industrial waste into the sea can be the cause of sea life to be endangered. As water pollution affects other sustainable resources there’s a chance that we cannot use these sustainable resources anymore. As water pollution continues there’s a possibility that it can be dangerous to our society and our health. It can also be the cause of humans and animals to be in danger, there is also a chance for us to get sick. Also, some country doesn’t have access to any clean water, like people outside of Canada. To stop the water pollution we could also do something like being involved in an organisation that prevent water pollution or we could also prevent it at home by keeping the oil, grease, fat and etc out of water. Because of the water from the house that has oil, grease and fats end up either in sewage or septic tank. As water pollution affects everyone because of the results of human activities, humans can also be affected by it because we are also getting resources from the water.
