How to Make Hot Chocolate

The simplest yet the most delicious hot chocolate ever!

 To create the most delicious hot chocolate using simple methods.

Ingredients

• 2 Tbsp Cadbury Drinking Chocolate mix.
• chocolate syrup 
• 2 cups of fresh milk
• 2 tbsp of sugar
• A drop of vanilla extract
• Whipped cream
• Marshmallows

Utensils

• Mug
• Saucepan
• Whisk

Method

1. Combine milk and sugar in a small saucepan and heat it in medium heat until it steams. 
2. After the milk bubbles on the side turn off the heat and add the Cadbury Drinking Chocolate mix and whisk it. Add the chocolate syrup and add a drop of vanilla extract if decide.
3.  Put mixture into your mug.
4. Then add your whipped cream or marshmallows on top if you want to.

If you want your hot chocolate sweeter add, more chocolate syrup. You can put any toppings you like.

In ESOL we have to think about our dream meal for entree, main course and for my dessert. We also have to explain why we choose this meal.

Conservation Week

In ESOL, we had to make blogpost research about Conservation Week in New Zealand. In this research, we have to explain what Conservation Week is and explain why we think it is or(isn't) important. We also have to explain 3 things young New Zealander can do to help conserve our plants, animals, and environment.

Conservation Week/Te Wiki Tiaki Ao Tūroa is a national celebration that encourages people to get involved in nature and help to take care of it. It takes place this year from Saturday-14th till the 22nd of September. This year we celebrate 50 years of Conservation Week. Conservation Week was originally launched in 1969 by New Zealand Scout Association, they have a goal to promote greater interest in the environment. 

Conservation Week is important in our society and environment as it helps the environment to reduce the air and soil pollution. It is also important because if we didn't do it or not participate in Conservation Week there's going to be a big impact on the environment we might not be able to save our planet. Many things happened this year the forests are burning like the Amazon forest, native animals and plants threatened or at risk. The things that are happening this year can affect not just people but other living organisms. If we didn't do any action to encourage other people to help, the problem will get worse and might be too late to save the environment. 

As a student and a teenager, we have many ways that we could help the environment and save the planet. First, we could plant a tree or plant in our backyard to release oxygen and people will able to breath fresh air, we could also make a com spit bin to put the recycle bottles. Secondly, don't throw food everywhere because it might attract mice and rats to eat and they might able to re-produce and their population will grow and that will cause a big problem, they might eat all of the bird eggs. Lastly, we could be part and volunteer for cleaning up in your community. Doing little things can make a big difference in the environment.

Friendship

To me, friendship means having someone who would save you when you feel that you are falling, help you when you needed. A friend is one of the important people in your life because they will be the one who will make you feel happy whenever you are sad.

Importantly, friendship is one of the important relationships. Being a true friend to each other can be the greatest relationship you will have with your friend. Friendship with understanding with each other is another way to make your relationship stronger. Friendship would mean a lot to me because I got a friend that would make me happy and would make me feel not alone.

In the book/movie Charlotte's Web, the relationship of being friends was shown in the film. They show it through when Charlotte was trying to save Wilbur when Wilbur was about to be killed be Mr Zuckerman. Charlotte did all her best to figure out how to save her friend from danger, she thinks what possibly she could be done to help Wilbur. Until the end when Charlotte died after she lay eggs Wilbur still looks at her as a friend and Wilbur took care of the children of Charlotte.

This kind of friendship was shown in the film and it's one of the important parts of the film because this showed that whenever your friend is in danger you will try your best to make them feel safe.

Trip to Willowbank || Recount

Trip to Willowbank

On Thursday 23rd of May 2019, Year 9 E.S.O.L went to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. In E.S.O.L we are currently learning about Mammals and the field trip was part of the E.S.O.L learning so we can choose what animal we want and so we can learn more about the animal we choose which is the Horse, Alpaca and Rabbit.

Firstly, when we arrive in Willowbank the first one we did was gather in front of the lobby and wait for our teacher Ms Briggs, the name of our tour guide is Rachel. When we enter, we went straight to Farmyard the first animal we saw in the Barnyard was the Kunekune Pig we also fed them but we are just dropping the food because we are not allowed to feed them or lend our hand, while we're feeding the pig we can see the other animals walking around like Chicken, Goose and Duck.

My favourite animals in the Barnyard in Willowbank was the Horse, Alpaca, Bunny. 

The type of Horse we saw was Clydesdale Horse. Her name is Sam she is very lovely and she is very calm, when you touch her she doesn't mind and she is not a very sensitive kind of horse maybe because she is used to people now and no afraid of people. Clydesdale usually has bay colour, they usually eat grass and hay. Behaviour that Clydesdale have is they have a very mild temperament.

Throughout the trip in the farmyard, the animal that I have been wanting to see was the Alpaca because I found it cute and they look soft. When we are approaching the Alpaca he/she was also coming to us. Alpaca has soft and thick fleece/wool but on that time my hand was sweating and I can feel the rough and dryness of the fleece/wool of the Alpaca I touched. Alpaca is similar to llama but Alpaca is smaller than a llama. They have a special stomach that allows them to get nutrients from poor food. Alpaca cria is the term for Alpaca babies, they can stand up  30 to 50 minutes after being born.

The third favourite animals that I saw in the Willowbank was the rabbit. Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha. There are around 504 breeds of rabbit in the world. A male rabbit is called bucks; the female rabbit is called does while the adult rabbit is called coney and the young rabbit is called a bunny. The ears of the rabbit are used to detect and avoid predators.

Throughout the trip, I have learnt a lot about animals like how they behave and how they live as if they are living with the pack or they are living by there selves. We also saw different types of animals; different types of native birds and parrots.
