Monarchy In Ancient Egypt

In Social Studies, we have been doing a research topic about the government we chose. The topic that I choose is the Monarchy in Ancient Egypt.

In  Ancient Egypt, the government was a very theoric monarchy. The leader of Ancient Egypt was called a Pharaoh. Pharaoh is the ruler in Egypt, Pharaoh is the most important and powerful in the country of Egypt. Pharaoh is in charge to lead the people in his country. Before Egypt had many local kings, each place in Egypt has a king that can be ruled but no one had ever ruled entire Egypt. But suddenly someone came and rule the entire City, his name is Namer also known ‘Menes’.

Coraline

What do I remember about the film?
I remember when Coraline first meets the other parents she was surprised when she the eyes of the other parent because their eyes are not normal it's a button.
I also remember, when Coraline is eager to find her parents and she realizes that her parents are important for her. The scariest for me is when the evil other mother starting to transform into something like a skeleton and the sound effect is give me surprised when the scene is scary.
The part that interests me is when Coraline starting to figure out what is going on and when she realizes that the evil other parents are evil.

LO: Define and use the language film.

What am I learning?
Different types of Camera Techniques.
How does this work show my learning?
By explaining each one of them.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning?

Diffusion

The Behavior of Matter - Diffusion

When gas particles, like the perfumes in a can of deodorant, are released into a room they are free to move in any direction. Eventually, they will spread throughout the entire room. The scientist called this diffusion.

Aim:
To observe diffusion in a liquid.

Hypothesis:
The crystal will dissolve and the colour of the crystal will spread in the water.

Equipment:
Petri dish, tweezers, a crystal of potassium permanganate.

Method:
1. Half fill your petri dish with cold tap water.
2. Place the petri dish on your workbench and allow the water to become settled.
3. Using the tweezers, place a single crystal of potassium permanganate in the centre of the petri dish.
4. Observe for 5 minutes.
5. Repeat the experiment using hot water.

Observation:
In cold water -  It takes a while to spread around with cold water.
In hot water - It's quickly spread around. t has little bubbles in the middle of the crystal.

Explanation:
The potassium permanganate crystal spread quickly because the warm water can make the particle move faster than the cold water.

Language of Film || Visual & Sound Techniques

LO: Films are visual text. They employ a combination of visual techniques and sound techniques.

What am I learning?
I am learning t understand what is the meaning of Visual & Sound Techniques.
How does this work show my learning?
It shows my learning by defining the meanings of the word.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning?
I am just wondering if all the movies have these techniques.

Government

In Social Studies, we have been talking about Government and different types of Government.

LO: To find out about different forms of Government and understand how government differ from each other.

Statement- I think that the characteristics of a dictator mostly have are rule autocracies. They keep their power by controlling the people in his country, they also have power and personality like aggressive and strong.

Explanation-   I think dictator has that characteristic to rule the role and to have the power to make laws and a dictator leader has the power to hold and abuse extraordinary power.

Example- Adolf Hitler is one of the famous dictators in the world because he was the leader of the National Socialist German Worker. Like his famous quotes ‘And I can fight only for something that I love, love only what I respect, and respect only what I at least know’ he has that respect but at the same time he has characteristic If our country were defeated, I hope we should find a champion as indomitable to restore our courage and lead us back to our place among the nations’.

Link - Therefore dictator has a characteristic that mostly not common to other government because of a dictator can make laws and power to rule his own country and power to make his people follow his rule.

Reflection || Maths

In Maths, we have been doing a lot of interesting facts.

Facts Learning:
We are trying to find out what is the biggest number in the world.
What do I mean by biggest number?
When I say the biggest number I am talking about How many liters of water in the Ocean.
- Roughly, there's 1,260,000,000,000,000,000,000 liters (1,260 x 10^24)
How many people are in the world?
Currently, there are is 7,691,622,860 population of people in the world and it’s adding more.
(7x10^9)

Large Numbers - Metric Prefix:
What do I mean by Large Numbers?
I mean by the large number is like Million, Billion, Trillion, Quadrillion, Quintillion, Septillion, and Sectillion. How do we know how many zeros are there in Septiloion?
There's an easy way to write the numbers than doing the normal way. We can use the Indices.

What is Metric Prefix?
A metric prefix is a unit prefix that precedes a basic unit of measure to indicate a multiple or fraction of the unit. Metric Prefix

Converting Number:
In this topic, instead of using heaps of zero you can use or convert it into an index(exponent).

Indices:
What are Indices?
The index tells you how many time does it have to multiply by itself. Math is Fun

The Laws of Indices:
- The first law of indices is when you are multiplying the two number with the same base you also need to add them to power indices. When we multiply the two number with the same the indices are added.

- The second law of indices is when we dividing two numbers written in index form with the same base. When we divide the two number with the same base we have to subtract the indices.

- The third law of indices is If the result of a number raised to a power is itself raised to power then the two powers are multiplied. We have to multiply the two powers to get the answer.

Flying around the Solar System in an A380:
For this topic, we have to choose a planet to calculate how many days/year it takes to go to that planet. Faith, Summer and I choose to do the Mercury and we also make a class slide show to put our work.

\

Percentage:
In this topic, we have to get the percentage of the space between the planets.

The Contraction || The Imploding Can

The behavior of Matter -  Contraction
Solids, liquid, and gases all expand when they are heated. Similarly, when substances are cooled they contact as the particles move closer together.

The Imploding Can
Aim:
To observe contraction in gases.
Hypothesis:
It will explode.
Equipment:
Bunsen burner, Tongs, Ice cream container, Can, Safety glasses, heatproof mat.
Method:
1. Set up a Bunsen burner underneath a tripod and gauze mat.
2. Pour approximately 50-60 mL of water into your can. It should be no more than 1/4 full.
3. Heat the can of water until steam is seen escaping from the top.
- Carefully grip the can with the scissor tongs. Ensure you have a firm hold of the can before lifting it off the gauze mat.
4. Quickly, but very' carefully, invert the can as you plunge it into a container of water.

Observation:
The water was boiling because of the heat and the can squeeze up.
Explanation:
The can suddenly squeeze up because the particles starting to move around when it's heated but when you put it in cold water the particles will stop moving.

Practice Writing Essay

In Abomination by Robert Swindells, a character important to the text as a whole is Martha. Throughout the text, Martha becomes more confident by making friends with Scott, standing up for herself against the bullies at her school and rebelling against her parents.
One way that we see the character of Martha change in the text is when she makes friends with Scott. Before Scott started at her school, Martha had no friends and felt sad and isolated by her peers. Her classmates didn’t want to work with her, they moved away from her seat and wouldn’t share their equipment with her.  When Scott arrived, Martha hoped she might finally have someone to connect with. Luckily, Scott became her friend and Martha was able to open up and share with him about the abuse she was suffering at school and at home. This leads to Scott finding out about abomination- her nephew- living in the basement. This friendship is important to the text as a whole because if Martha hadn’t met Scott she wouldn’t have grown the confidence to stand up to her family and tell the secret of Abomination. Another way that her newly found confidence from Scott will help Martha is when she decides to stand up to the bullies at school.

Another way that her newly found confidence from Scott will help Martha is when she decides to stand up to the bullies at school.  Martha was standing up for herself when Tracey bully her but Martha insult Tracey Stamper and tells her that she's ugly. Another way of Scott helping Martha was also helping her to stand up against her parents by blackmailing her parents that she will tell about the Abomination.
