Design a Game in Mathematics

In Math, we've found out that we are having difficulty to understand the literacy words for the 4 basic operations in Maths. Our teacher, Mr Rees made us think how many words that could be used to identify the basic operation. At first, we search what are the math action words that are base about the  4 basic operations in maths.

We've been looking and making word clouds about the 4 basic operations in maths. After finding all the words we put them in collum to easily find which operation is the word is included. After gathering all of the words we made a word cloud for each operation and put them in Googe Slide Show. We also put the table that has the 4 operations besides the words cloud that we made for each operation.



The next thing we talked about is designing and making a game however before we made a game we have to make a design process first to plan which game we should do. To make an amazing game we come up with many ideas of games.

In our group, we decided to do the game Pick a Path base on the previous slide which about the 4 basic operations. If there's a minor error just like when you click the correct answer but this word came out on your screen ‘Incorrect! Please try again’ it's must be because of you misclicks it. Make sure you click the word in the box with the answer you think is right and not the yellow background.



We also made a video clip that explains how to play the game, Pick a Path. Our aim is to encourage kids to learn literacy in Math. Literacy in Math is most commonly used whenever you are doing Math Words Problem.

Friendship

To me, friendship means having someone who would save you when you feel that you are falling, help you when you needed. A friend is one of the important people in your life because they will be the one who will make you feel happy whenever you are sad.

Importantly, friendship is one of the important relationships. Being a true friend to each other can be the greatest relationship you will have with your friend. Friendship with understanding with each other is another way to make your relationship stronger. Friendship would mean a lot to me because I got a friend that would make me happy and would make me feel not alone.

In the book/movie Charlotte's Web, the relationship of being friends was shown in the film. They show it through when Charlotte was trying to save Wilbur when Wilbur was about to be killed be Mr Zuckerman. Charlotte did all her best to figure out how to save her friend from danger, she thinks what possibly she could be done to help Wilbur. Until the end when Charlotte died after she lay eggs Wilbur still looks at her as a friend and Wilbur took care of the children of Charlotte.

This kind of friendship was shown in the film and it's one of the important parts of the film because this showed that whenever your friend is in danger you will try your best to make them feel safe.

In Social Studies we have to do and finish a task and the first task that I've finished is a Word Search.
I made a word search about Maori Daily Life before European arrive in New Zealand.

What did you bake?
We bake a cookie bowl with marshmallow and sprinkles.
What did you like about what you bake?
The texture was nice and you can taste the chocolate chips it's not that too sweet.
Did you make any changes to the recipe you used?
We change the amount of salt to pinch from 1/2 teaspoon of salt
What were the key skills that you learnt?
Moulding the cookie dough and used something heavy to stop the cookie from rising
Did you enjoy the Kiwibakers unit? Give some reasons
Yes, I enjoyed the Kiwi Bakers because I learnt how to bake different types of a baking recipe in New Zealand.

What I've learnt?

In Science, we talked about waves, different types of energy. There many types of energy such as; electrical energy, heat energy, light energy, sound energy, kinetic energy, gravitational energy and chemical potential energy. We also learnt the parts of ears and eyes, for the eye, we dissect a cow eye.

3 Things that I have learnt:
Firstly, I have learnt that the sound travels through solids because the particles are closer together when compared to liquids and gases.
I have also learnt that light travels at approximately 300 000 000 meters per second. I also learnt that Optic Science is a branch of physics that deals with light,
Thirdly, for the eye, I have learnt the parts of the eyes which are the cornea, pupil, iris, lens, retina, optic nerve and the sclera. I learnt that the lens is a bi-convex transparent flexible disc attached by the suspensory ligaments to the ciliary muscles.
